C.H.A.A. “SAINTS” Program Overview
Our History
“C.H.A.A. SAINTS” is a professional physical education program presently serving home school families in 13 locations from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando, and Naples, FL. We have also expanding to Austin, TX, Zambia, and Guatemala. Since our founding in 1997, this ministry reaches over 3500 children each week. Our goal and our prayer is to honor God, co-labor with parents, and bless your children by encouraging them in who they are in Jesus Christ. We accomplish this using the platform of sports.
C.H.A.A. “SAINTS” has a dedicated staff of over 70 coaches who are hand chosen and called by God to work with children. All coaches are screened with a background check, certified in First Aid and CPR, and committed to bringing glory to God through working with children.
A Typical Day at “SAINTS”
Our program is designed to be a professional physical education program, just as a student would receive from a “traditional” school. From September through May at county and city parks, we teach “every sport imaginable”. We teach four different sports activities from the ground level up for four consecutive weeks. Then we rotate, teaching four new sports activities for another four consecutive weeks and so on. We operate in two “sessions” in a given day, 9a.m. – 12p.m. and 1p.m. – 4p.m. This schedule is designed to give home school families the flexibility to teach their children academics in the morning and attend P.E. class in the afternoon, or vice versa! There is also an option for students to attend all day at “SAINTS” P.E. We are based on a “drop-off” program, but parents are certainly welcome to stay if you feel that is in the best interest of your child(ren).
Each session is identical in format. During a three-hour block of time, students are divided up into appropriate age groups, maintaining a 12:1 child to instructor ratio for ages 7 & up, and a 6:1 child to instructor ratio for 5 & 6 year olds. These groups then rotate through a “circuit” of different sports activity stations. The first activity lasts for 30 minutes, then each group rotates to the next station for another 30 minute activity. Groups then break for a 30-minute snack (provided by parents), and then out onto the field to the next 30-minute sport activity station. We rotate once more to the next 30-minute activity and end the day with a big group activity. Through our rotation schedules, we are able to keep a lot of variety in the “SAINTS” program.
C.H.A.A. provides water, plenty of shade, sunblock, and the best of care and encouragement for your children. We also keep with us, at all times, the registration forms containing the emergency contact name(s) and phone number(s) you provide. Parents, in turn, have complete access to our field cell phones.
We hold C.H.A.A. “SAINTS” P.E. classes “rain or shine“. When it rains, we turn to “plan B” and operate under the shelter-covered areas doing activities such as shuffleboard, jump rope, weights, & games.
We hold strongly to “one rule“: RESPECT…. respect to our leaders, respect to one another, respect to the equipment, respect to one’s self, and respect to the environment. Through this one rule, children honor and respect God!
We count it a great privilege and an honor to work with your children, a responsibility we do not take lightly. We look forward to all God has in store for the year ahead and welcome you to call with any further questions you may have.
Sincerely, On Jesus Team,
